Engagement Session

As part of my service, we’ll talk through the plan and details of the day ahead of time. If the location is local to me, I’d be more than happy to meet in person and plan it together.

Wardrobe plays a big role in how your photos feel. I usually recommend choosing outfits that complement each other rather than matching exactly. Soft colours, natural textures, and timeless pieces tend to photograph beautifully. Once your session is booked, I’m always happy to offer guidance and help you choose outfits that will work well with the location and season.

While you pop the question, I’ll step back, stay hidden and allow the moment to unfold naturally as you pop the question, capturing it quietly as it happens before guiding you both into some relaxed portraits afterwards.

One of the greatest strengths I bring to these sessions is my experience in guiding people in front of the camera. Following the proposal, I’ll gently guide you through a series of natural movements designed to flatter you while still feeling relaxed and authentic. I use subtle direction to capture you and your loved one in the most beautiful way. No stiff poses here!

The location helps shape the feeling of your photos. Some couples choose a place that is meaningful to them, while others prefer a setting with beautiful light and scenery. I’m always happy to suggest locations that photograph well and suit the time of year, and we can choose somewhere that feels natural and comfortable for you both.

Weather is always something we keep an eye on when planning a session. We’ll usually plan for an alternative location ahead of time in case conditions change on the day. Sometimes a little cloud cover can actually create beautiful soft light, but if the weather is truly unsuitable we can simply reschedule. If you have your heart set on a particular location, we can always move the session to another day when the conditions are just right (pending availability).

If you decide to book your wedding with me after your engagement session, I’ll apply a $400 credit from your engagement session toward your wedding photography collection, in place of the pre-wedding session usually included in my wedding service as well as all images from the engagement session.

All digital files will be delivered via a private online gallery. You will have 2 weeks to access to view, share and download your files. Please make sure to back up all your images. All products will be ordered from the photo lab and delivered to the studio.
I will notify you once your order is ready to be picked up.
